Willie Wood
Willie Wood was a Hall of Fame safety who played his entire 12-year NFL career (1960-1971) with the Green Bay Packers. Originally signed as an undrafted free agent from USC, Wood became one of the best defensive backs in the 1960s NFL.He was a key player on Vince Lombardi’s championship teams, winning five NFL titles including the first two Super Bowls. Wood made eight Pro Bowls, was named All-Pro five times, and recorded 48 career interceptions. His most famous moment came in Super Bowl I when he intercepted a pass and returned it to set up a touchdown that helped seal the Packers’ victory. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1989.
