After 2 All-American seasons, Bob Griese, the Heisman candidate from Purdue was the Dolphins 1st-round pick of 1967. 14 years with Miami saw 3 Super Bowl appearances and 2 NFL Championships. The league’s 1971 MVP, many consider him the best quarterback of the 1970s decade. An 8-time Pro Bowler and 2-time All Pro he received the Bert Bell award in 1977 after guiding the Dolphins to a 10-4 record while leading the league in touchdown passes with 22. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1990.
